P440e to P510e: genuine factory power upgrade with zero compromise.
A 2023 Range Rover Sport L461 P440e plug-in hybrid. The owner loved the vehicle's refinement and electric range but felt the performance was underwhelming for a car of this calibre — particularly when merging at motorway speeds or overtaking on A-roads.
The P440e and P510e share the same 3.0-litre Ingenium petrol engine and electric motor. The only difference is the factory software calibration. JLR deliberately limits the P440e's output to create product differentiation — but this leaves significant performance on the table.
We performed a genuine factory power upgrade using the exact same calibration files deployed on the P510e production line. This is not a remap. The process involves writing the official JLR powertrain calibration to the engine control module (ECM) and transmission control module (TCM), then clearing adaptation data so the systems learn the new output characteristics from a clean slate.
Power increased from 440hp to 510hp — a gain of 70hp. Torque rose proportionally. The owner reported dramatically improved throttle response, more confident overtaking, and a more engaging driving experience overall. Fuel economy remained virtually unchanged under normal driving.
