Why Update Your JLR Navigation System?
Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles boast robust navigation systems enhanced by InControl Touch, Touch Pro, or Touch Pro Duo. But like all GPS systems, they rely on static map databases that need regular updates to:
- Reflect new roads, highways, and traffic layouts
- Add thousands of new POIs (restaurants, banks, petrol stations, hotels)
- Incorporate changes like roundabouts, closures, exit lanes, and town zones
- Improve navigation logic—like dynamic rerouting and traffic-proof routing
If your JLR navigation system hasn’t been updated recently, you may be:
- Taking incorrect routes
- Missing new destinations
- Driving longer unnecessarily
- Losing time and fuel

How Do I Know If I Need a Map Update?
Signs you need a navigation update:
- Navigation routes don’t match road signs
- New roads/highways are missing
- You experience frequent “no GPS signal” in cities
- Voice guidance pronounces turn names incorrectly
- Speed camera alert missing vs. last year’s build
Some systems will show:
- “Map Version: 2019” or earlier
- Notice on startup: “New update available”
Tip: You can find current map software under Settings > System Info > Navigation > Version on most JLR Touch Pro systems.

Ways to Upgrade Your Maps
We currently offer three fully supported methods for updating your JLR maps in 2025:
USB Update Kit (Home Use)
Works for most 2017–2022 vehicles with Touch Pro / Touch Pro Duo systems.
Steps:
- Download Map Updater Tool (provided via link)
- Enter your VIN and license key from official dealership
- Insert a 16-32GB USB 3.0 drive into your car
- Load the update via in-car infotainment
⏱ Average install time: 20 – 65 minutes
Remote or Dealer-Level Flash
For:
- Navigation unlocks (post-retrofit)
- Touchscreen swaps / cloned modules
- Multi-region activation
- Lost software recovery
We offer Pathfinder / SDD-based remote sessions to reinstall or reactivate your maps, especially after:
- ECU change
- Retail infotainment “black screen”
- ACC + NavCombo retrofits
- Module mismatch errors
This is done remotely or on-site using tools like JET Pro or SX-TOOL to setup local in-car.
SD Card Update
Available for older platforms such as:
- InControl Touch (Freelander, original Evoque)
- Discovery 4, XJ (2013–2015)
The SD card is preloaded and shipped:
- Plug-and-play
- Instant install
- Compatible with OEM infotainment guidelines
Note: SD card updates are region-locked. Please specify if you’re traveling across borders (e.g., Morocco/Spain or UAE/KSA).
