Each front seat receives an array of pneumatic bladders positioned at key anatomical contact points across the backrest and cushion. These bladders are inflated and deflated in sequenced patterns by a dedicated compressor module, delivering a range of massage programmes from gentle rolling lumbar mobilisation to deeper kneading action through the upper backrest.

The system is controlled through the vehicle’s native infotainment display set, providing an intuitive touchscreen interface for programme selection, intensity adjustment, and massage zone targeting. Communication between the massage controller, seat module, and central touchscreen occurs over the vehicle’s LIN and CAN‑bus networks, ensuring seamless integration with existing seat memory, heating, and ventilation functions. Available for Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover Velar models, this retrofit delivers the same occupant comfort experience found in the highest factory specifications.

Vehicle Compatibility

The seat massage display set and massage chair retrofit is available for the following models. A VIN‑based compatibility check is required to confirm the vehicle’s seat architecture and infotainment software level.

• Range Rover (L405 – 2018 onwards facelift models with Touch Pro Duo infotainment)
• Range Rover (L460 – 2022 onwards, all trim levels with electrically adjustable front seats)
• Range Rover Sport (L494 – 2018 onwards facelift)

Vehicles must be factory‑fitted with electrically adjustable front seats and the relevant infotainment display set. Vehicles with manual seat adjustment can be upgraded with the full electric seat conversion prior to massage system installation. The retrofit requires a Seat Control Module compatible with massage firmware; where not present, this module is included as part of the upgrade package.

1. Seat Preparation: Removal of front seat backrest and cushion covers. Installation of the pneumatic bladder matrix at the correct anatomical positions, secured with factory‑grade adhesive fixing strips. Routing of air lines through the seat frame to the compressor mounting bracket.
2. Compressor & Harness Installation: Fitment of the dedicated compressor module within the seat base cavity. Connection of the LIN‑bus harness between the compressor solenoid block and the Seat Control Module. Power feed integration into the seat electrical distribution unit.
3. Display Set Integration: Update of the infotainment system software to enable the massage control interface within the seat comfort screen. Configuration of the Central Gateway Module to recognise the massage system on the CAN‑bus network.
4. Software Configuration: Using JLR Pathfinder, the Car Configuration File (CCF) is amended to activate the massage seat feature flag, massage programme parameters, zone configuration, and safety interlocks with seat heating and occupant detection systems.
5. Functional Verification: Full system test of all massage programmes across all intensity levels and zones. Verification of touchscreen integration, session timer operation, and fault‑free communication across the LIN and CAN networks.

Typical installation time is one working day. All components are genuine JLR parts, and the work is covered by a 12‑month warranty on both parts and labour.
