A professional mail-in service for correcting the mileage on a used/replacement Jaguar or Land Rover Instrument Pack Cluster (IPC). We directly edit the EEPROM file to synchronize the odometer value to your vehicle's true mileage after a cluster swap.
The Problem: Mileage Mismatch After an Instrument Cluster Swap
When an Instrument Pack Cluster (IPC) in a modern Jaguar or Land Rover fails, the most cost-effective solution is often to install a functional used unit. However, this creates a significant problem: the odometer reading from the donor vehicle is displayed, which mismatches your vehicle's actual mileage. This often results in a flashing odometer display and a vehicle that cannot be legally sold or inspected.
Standard dealer tools like SDD and Pathfinder cannot correct this issue. They are designed to program a brand new (virgin) cluster, but they are blocked from overwriting or reducing the mileage value stored in a used cluster's EEPROM memory.
Our Solution: Professional EEPROM File Editing
Our service bypasses this software block by working at the hardware level. We physically desolder or directly access the EEPROM chip (e.g., 93C76, 93C86) on your replacement cluster's circuit board. By editing the raw data file, we can precisely set the odometer value to match your vehicle's documented true mileage, creating a correctly synchronized replacement cluster.
LEGAL & ETHICAL SERVICE ONLY
This service is offered for one purpose only: to correct the odometer on a replacement instrument cluster to match the vehicle's true and accurate mileage.
Illegally altering an odometer to misrepresent a vehicle's mileage (“clocking”) is a serious crime. We will not perform this type of work. To use this service, you must provide verifiable proof of your vehicle's original mileage, such as:
- A clear photo of the original, damaged cluster displaying its final mileage before removal.
- Official service records or state inspection documents showing the mileage at a recent date.
We reserve the right to refuse any service request where fraudulent activity is suspected.
How The Service Works
- Purchase The Service: Complete the checkout process.
- Provide Documentation: Email us your proof of original mileage and the desired target mileage for the replacement cluster.
- Send Us Your File/Cluster: You have two options:
- Option A (File Only): Use your own EEPROM programmer (e.g., VVDI PROG, UPA, Orange5) to read the file from the replacement cluster's EEPROM. Email the file to us. We will edit it and email the corrected file back within one business day.
- Option B (Mail-in Cluster): Carefully package and mail the entire replacement instrument cluster to us. We will perform the EEPROM read, edit, and write process in our lab and mail the cluster back to you.
- Complete The Installation: If you sent the file, write the modified file back to the EEPROM. Reinstall the cluster in the vehicl.
