JLR Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) is the factory diagnostic platform for Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles built between 2005 and 2017. The software guides a technician through symptom-based fault isolation, module interrogation, service procedures, and configuration routines across the L316, L319, L320, L322, L359, L538, X100, X150, X250, X350, and X351 vehicle lines. JLR designed SDD to operate through TOPIx, the manufacturer’s online gateway. That architecture requires a live server connection for authentication, calibration downloads, and As-Built data retrieval.

This product delivers a different operating model. We activate JLR SDD for permanent offline use. The software runs on your Windows laptop without contacting JLR servers, without a TOPIx technician ID, and without online verification. You install the SDD application, we bind the activation to your machine’s hardware ID, and the suite operates as a standalone diagnostic environment.

What Offline SDD Delivers

Offline SDD covers the diagnostic functions that matter most in independent and workshop use. The suite reads and clears diagnostic trouble codes across all supported modules, streams live sensor data, runs actuator tests on legacy models, executes service reset procedures, and performs module configuration where the necessary files reside on the local installation. The software also includes CCF (Car Configuration File) tools for inspecting and editing vehicle configuration data where the platform supports it.

Earlier SDD distributions shipped with complete As-Built and Car Configuration Files for vehicles through their release coverage. This offline activation preserves that capability. You retain local access to the configuration and calibration data that your SDD version carries. The activation removes the online authentication barrier; it does not strip diagnostic depth.

What Offline Mode Does Not Do

Offline SDD does not download fresh calibration files from JLR servers. It does not retrieve live As-Built data that sits behind TOPIx authentication. It does not activate online programming sessions that require a valid JLR subscription[reference:6]. If your workflow depends on pulling the latest ECU software directly from JLR, that task requires a TOPIx-linked session and this product does not replace it.

For diagnostics, fault isolation, live data analysis, service resets, and configuration work with locally available files, offline SDD delivers full operational capability.

Activation Architecture

We bind the activation to your Windows installation’s hardware ID (HWID). You provide the HWID after installing SDD, and we issue a license tied to that machine. The activation is permanent for that hardware profile and carries no expiry date and no recurring subscription fee. The process does not patch system files or introduce unsigned drivers. It signs the SDD installation as a verified offline instance, so the software launches in standalone mode with full diagnostic access.

The SDD application itself remains JLR’s official installer. We deliver the activation layer separately. This separation keeps the diagnostic engine intact and avoids modifying the core software package.

System Requirements and Interface Compatibility

SDD communicates with the vehicle through a J2534-compliant Vehicle Communication Interface. The software supports both DoIP and non-DoIP vehicles within its model-year coverage. For ECU flashing or module programming sessions, connect a stabilised power supply capable of sustaining 13.4–13.8V at 50A or higher; a voltage drop during a write procedure can brick a control module.

Installation and Delivery

You install the official JLR SDD package first. We provide the current installer reference and the activation workflow. After installation, you send us the machine’s HWID, we issue the license file, and you apply it to the SDD security directory. The activation takes effect immediately. You receive the HWID license and the configuration steps through your account download area, typically within the same business day.
