How Advanced Tow Assist Works
When you select reverse gear with a trailer attached, Advanced Tow Assist uses the rear camera to detect the trailer angle. You then control the desired trailer direction using the Terrain Response dial. The vehicle steers automatically to guide the trailer along the path you indicate. You manage the accelerator, brakes, and clutch where fitted.
The touchscreen displays the rear camera feed with a guidance overlay showing the trailer path. The system removes the need for opposite steering inputs that make trailer reversing difficult. Advanced Tow Assist works at low speeds only and deactivates automatically when you exceed the manoeuvring threshold.
JLR Platform Compatibility
We supply Advanced Tow Assist Activation for Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar, Discovery, and Discovery Sport. Most vehicles from 2017 onward with a factory tow pack, rear camera, and compatible driver assistance modules qualify.
