How the JLR Auto High Beam System Works

When no relevant light source appears, the headlamp control module activates full beam. When a vehicle approaches within the detection range, the system dips to low beam. Once the vehicle passes, the system returns to full beam automatically. The transition happens smoothly, so the road remains well lit throughout the change.
The system operates above approximately 40 km/h and requires a dark environment. It pauses in well-lit urban areas, which keeps behaviour appropriate to the surroundings. It also pauses when you select manual high beam, so you always retain direct control whenever you want it.
