Product Overview

JLR infotainment systems store regional radio parameters inside the head unit and the master Vehicle Configuration File. European market vehicles use 100 kHz FM channel steps, while USA radio infrastructure uses 200 kHz FM spacing across the 87.9 MHz to 107.9 MHz FM band. An incorrectly set region creates poor station detection, incomplete auto-scan results and missing local radio stations. Our Radio Frequency Adjustment updates these stored region values to match USA FCC broadcast standards. The infotainment unit scans and tunes exactly as a factory USA-delivered JLR vehicle would operate.

This coding service preserves all other infotainment features including touchscreen operation, Bluetooth media, navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It does not alter audio amplifier tuning, speaker output levels or CAN bus communication behaviour. The system retains your saved media presets where possible, though we recommend backing up radio favourites before programming begins. The change stays persistent through ignition cycles and infotainment restarts. You keep full control of all standard radio functions once the programming completes.

Technical Operation & Specification

Our technicians connect JLR diagnostic hardware to the OBD port to read the current CCF and infotainment module software data. They verify the existing market code and confirm the infotainment hardware supports USA radio region configuration. Some head unit variants have hardware limitations and cannot accept region conversion, so we validate compatibility before writing any configuration changes.

We modify only the radio region parameter set within the CCF and infotainment configuration. We do not rewrite unrelated infotainment firmware unless a separate module software update is requested. After programming, we perform a read-back check to confirm the updated region settings save correctly into non-volatile memory. We then run live functional testing across AM and FM bands. This testing verifies automatic station scan, manual frequency entry, preset storage and station capture on USA channel spacing. A full vehicle diagnostic scan confirms no new DTC entries appear in the infotainment or gateway modules.
