How the System Works

Two radar sensors mount in the rear bumper corners. These sensors continuously scan the areas beside and behind your vehicle. A dedicated Blind Spot Monitoring Control Module processes the radar data and calculates the position and speed of nearby objects. The module communicates over the vehicle’s CAN network. It sends commands to the door modules, which illuminate the warning lights in the mirrors. If the system detects an imminent collision, it requests braking force from the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
