Service Overview

LR-Retrofit offers a comprehensive electronic module software update service for all JLR vehicles. Modern Land Rover, Range Rover, and Jaguar models contain up to 80 electronic control modules that communicate over multiple CAN, LIN, and FlexRay networks. Each module runs embedded firmware that controls engine management, transmission behaviour, body functions, chassis systems, driver assistance features, and infotainment. When modules fall out of sync due to incomplete updates, battery disconnection, module swaps, or simply because the vehicle has missed a scheduled software campaign, a wide range of faults can appear: warning lights on the dash, intermittent system failures, poor drivability, or complete loss of a feature.

Using the same JLR Pathfinder and SDD (Service Diagnostic System) tools used by main dealers, we connect directly to the vehicle’s OBD port and perform a full module inventory scan, identify all available software updates per module, and carry out the reflash using secure OEM servers. Unlike generic OBD tools, our system verifies the integrity of each flash and performs post-update configuration (CCF alignment, module initialisation, and fault code clearing).

When Do You Need a Module Software Update?

• Warning lights illuminated — Check Engine, ABS, DSC, Airbag, or drivetrain warning that stems from a module logic fault rather than a hardware failure.
• Post-battery replacement issues — Modules can lose learned values or calibration after a battery disconnect. A reflash re-establishes correct baseline data.
• Module swap from a donor vehicle — Replacement modules must be programmed with the correct vehicle VIN, CCF, and software level. We match the module to your vehicle.
• Incomplete previous update — Some dealers or low-end tools leave modules in a “partial flash” state. We recover them with a full factory reflash.
• Performance or drivability concern — Updated ECM or TCM software can resolve surging, hesitation, poor fuel economy, or harsh gear changes.
• Missing features — If a retrofit or module replacement removed a feature (e.g., lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring), the module likely needs a CCF update.
