Maximum Vehicle Speed Limit Correction for Land Rover & Jaguar
Many Jaguar Land Rover vehicles leave the factory with a maximum vehicle speed limit written into the Car Configuration File (CCF). Market regulations, fleet policies, and regional homologation requirements all influence that value. When you import a vehicle, change its purpose, or operate it in a different market, the original limit no longer matches your requirements. Our Maximum Vehicle Speed Limit Correction service adjusts that configuration value through authorised JLR diagnostic procedures.
You keep your factory powertrain, factory calibration, and factory warranty position. We modify one configuration parameter, verify the result, and document every change we apply.
Why Correct the Maximum Vehicle Speed Limit?
A vehicle built for the Japanese market typically carries a 180 km/h limiter. Gulf specification models often ship with a similar ceiling. Fleet and commercial variants frequently receive lower limits as a policy measure. When you relocate such a vehicle, register it in a new market, or repurpose it for track and off-road use, the original ceiling restricts performance that the powertrain already supports.
Correction restores the speed range your engine, transmission, and braking systems were engineered to deliver. You gain access to the full capability of your vehicle while retaining every factory safety system, including stability control, adaptive cruise control, and speed-limit information displays.
Key Benefits
- Authorised configuration change – We adjust the CCF value through JLR SDD or Pathfinder, exactly as a factory-trained technician would.
- Full powertrain capability – Your engine and transmission deliver the performance range they were designed for in your market.
- Complete safety system retention – ABS, DSC, EPB, and all driver-assistance features continue to operate normally.
- Fully reversible – We archive your original configuration values, so restoration takes minutes whenever you need it.
- Documented and verified – You receive a full report of the parameters changed and a post-correction road test confirmation.
How the Correction Works
The vehicle’s central gateway and powertrain control module read the maximum speed value from the CCF at every ignition cycle. When vehicle speed approaches that value, the PCM reduces torque delivery and the instrument cluster displays a warning message. Our correction modifies the relevant CCF parameters, which we then write back to the vehicle through the OBD-II diagnostic port.
We use Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) with CCF editor access on 2010–2016 platforms and Pathfinder with the As-Built file method on 2017 and newer platforms. The session requires a stable power supply of at least 13.5 V and a J2534 pass-thru device. No component removal takes place, and no physical trace remains after the session.

Vehicle Compatibility
We verify compatibility from your VIN before scheduling any work. The service supports these JLR platforms:
- Land Rover Defender (L316, L663)
- Land Rover Discovery 4 (L319) and Discovery 5 (L462)
- Land Rover Discovery Sport (L550)
- Range Rover Evoque (L538, L551)
- Range Rover Sport (L320, L494)
- Range Rover (L322, L405, L460)
- Range Rover Velar (L560)
- Jaguar XF, XE, XJ, F-Type, F-Pace, E-Pace – Selected model years
Certain markets and model years restrict this configuration change at a legislative level. We confirm the position for your registration country before we accept the booking.
Installation and Coding Support
The correction takes place through the vehicle’s OBD-II port, so you schedule a remote session and complete the work from your own premises. Our technician connects, reads the current configuration, applies the corrected values, clears any resulting fault codes, and confirms the result with a guided road test.
We check your tyre speed rating and load index before the session. A correct speed rating keeps your vehicle safe at the speeds your powertrain now delivers, and we advise on the appropriate specification where necessary. Our technical team also reviews local road traffic regulations with you, so you understand your compliance position fully.
Important: You remain responsible for compliance with local road traffic law and for operating your vehicle within legal speed limits on public roads. This service restores powertrain capability for track use, private land, and correctly registered markets.
