This service is intended for Land Rover and Range Rover owners who require a factory-grade adjustment of the electronic top speed limiter. Whether you need to increase the limiter for legal autobahn use, decrease it for fleet policy compliance, or restore a speed limiter after a remap, we can adjust the built-in speed limit parameter stored in the engine ECU (ECM) and the CJB (Central Junction Box).

The correction is applied via OBD-II using our proprietary calibration tool that accesses the CCF and ECM parameter tables. The maximum speed can be set to any value between 80 km/h (50 mph) and the vehicle’s original design limit (typically 250 km/h / 155 mph for standard models). The change is fully reversible and does not affect warranty on later models when performed through the approved diagnostic interface.

2. Speed Limiter Installation for Lorries / HGVs

We supply and install certified speed limiter systems on light commercial vehicles (LCVs), heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), and other applicable vehicles requiring compliance with the UK and EU speed limiter regulations. Our preferred systems are the Traktec A2B RBTech and Holts SpeedGuard series, which integrate via CANbus or analogue throttle interface. All installations are MoT‑compatible and meet DVSA Type Approval requirements for limiters fitted after 1 October 2005.

The installation includes: physical mounting of the limiter control module, connection to the engine CANbus or throttle position sensor, calibration of the speed threshold (set to the legal default: 56 mph for HGV > 3.5 tonnes, 62 mph for buses/coaches, or customer‑specified limit), and a full functional test using a rolling road or GPS‑based speed verification system. A compliance certificate is issued with our authorised agent number.

LR-Retrofit is an accredited speed limiter agent authorised by the DVSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency) to carry out the installation, calibration, repair, and annual inspection of speed limiters on commercial vehicles. Our agent status (certificate ID available on request) means that any limiter system we install is recognised by enforcement authorities and MoT test centres without additional verification.

Our authorised agent services include:

• Initial installation and calibration of any approved speed limiter system (new vehicles or retrofits).
• Annual calibration check and re‑sealing of limiter units (mandatory for HGVs and buses under UK law).
• Repair or replacement of defective limiters, including CANbus module swaps and throttle sensor repairs.
• Tachograph integration – ensuring speed limiter signals are correctly transmitted to the digital tachograph (if fitted).
• Compliance audits for fleet operators – we inspect all vehicles in your fleet and provide a report for your operator’s licence file.
• Mobile service – for fleets, we can attend your depot and perform installations on‑site (minimum 5 vehicles).

All work is recorded in our digital log, which is accessible by DVSA examiners upon request. We keep calibration records for a minimum of 6 years as required by law.
