Many Jaguar Land Rover models leave the factory with rear sensors only, while front sensors and the more advanced Active Park Assist remain available as options. Parking Aid Module Programming

The Parking Aid Module (PAM) controls all parking sensor inputs and alerts. We read the current configuration from your vehicle, identify which sensor positions are present, and program the PAM to recognise them. We also adjust the warning tone volume, the minimum and maximum detection distances, and the display behaviour to match your preferences. If your vehicle previously had only rear sensors, we update the PAM configuration to add front sensor support without replacing the module.

Genuine Sensor Installation

For vehicles that require additional sensors, we install genuine JLR ultrasonic sensors in the correct factory positions. Front sensors fit into the bumper mouldings, while additional rear sensors may occupy the outer positions for better coverage. We paint the sensors to match your vehicle’s body colour and use the original mounting brackets and harness connectors. Every sensor connects to the existing PAM wiring loom, with no cutting or splicing required.

Active Park Assist Activation

Active Park Assist takes the system one step further by automatically steering your vehicle into parallel or perpendicular parking spaces. This feature requires additional side sensors and a software upgrade to the PAM and the Electric Power Steering module. We install the side sensors, update the module software, and activate the feature through the vehicle’s configuration. Once complete, you activate Active Park Assist with a dashboard button, and the system guides you through the parking manoeuvre.

Touchscreen and Instrument Cluster Integration

We update the infotainment system and instrument cluster to display the parking sensor graphic correctly. The touchscreen shows a real-time view of the vehicle with colour-coded distance indicators. The instrument cluster displays the same information in a simplified format. We configure both displays to match the factory behaviour, including the automatic activation when you select reverse gear.

Calibration and Road Test

After programming and installation, we perform a full calibration of the parking sensors. This ensures accurate distance measurement and reliable obstacle detection. We test the system in a controlled environment with known obstacles at various distances, then conduct a road test to verify that the sensors operate correctly at real-world parking speeds. You receive a report confirming the calibration results and the system’s performance.
