Configurable Dynamic Mode Retrofit for Jaguar and Land Rover
Configurable Dynamic Mode gives you direct control over how your Jaguar or Land Rover responds to your driving style. The system separates the drivetrain, steering, and suspension into individual adjustable parameters. You decide how sharp the throttle feels, how late the gearbox holds a gear, how much weight the steering carries, and how firmly the dampers react. This genuine JLR retrofit unlocks factory drive mode logic on your vehicle. You gain a personalised driving character without compromising factory reliability.
How Configurable Dynamic Mode Works
The system builds on the vehicle’s existing Dynamic or Sport mode architecture. Rather than applying a single fixed calibration, Configurable Dynamic Mode presents each subsystem as an independent setting. The driver selects a preference for Engine, Gearbox, Steering, and Suspension through the vehicle touchscreen or instrument cluster menu. The vehicle then stores that combination as the active Dynamic profile.
Factory JLR logic applies these settings in real time across the relevant control modules. Throttle mapping sharpens pedal response. Transmission strategy raises shift points and holds gears longer under load. Electric power steering increases assist weighting for a firmer feel. Adaptive dampers stiffen body control for reduced roll. Each parameter operates independently, so you can run a responsive engine with a comfort-oriented suspension if that suits your preference.
JLR Technical System Overview
Most modern Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles ship from the factory with the hardware required for Configurable Dynamic Mode. This hardware includes the drive mode selector, the adaptive damping module on air-sprung vehicles, and the electronic power steering unit. However, JLR disables the configurable element on lower trim levels through factory CCF (Car Configuration File) configuration locks. Those vehicles offer a fixed Dynamic mode only, with no driver-adjustable parameters.
Our retrofit service unlocks the dormant configurable logic through precise parameter tuning. We synchronise the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Transmission Control Module (TCM), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) module, Electronic Power Steering (EPS) module, and the Ride Control or Air Suspension Module. Each module must carry a matching calibration set. This coordination delivers consistent, factory-grade behaviour across every adjustable parameter.
Retrofit Process and Installation
We perform this retrofit using official JLR Pathfinder and DoIP programming standards. The process begins with full pre-service diagnostics across the powertrain, chassis, and body networks. Our technicians access the vehicle via the OBD-II port and read the PCM version, confirm the drive mode selector configuration, and record the current Dynamic mode calibration. We then verify adaptive damping hardware presence where the vehicle uses air suspension.
Next, we enable the Configurable Dynamic Mode parameters within the vehicle setup. The program writes the activation flags to the PCM, TCM, EPS, and suspension modules. We flash the matching control maps where the existing calibration requires an update. Finally, we run a functional validation across all four adjustable parameters to confirm correct operation and menu visibility. The update only enables dormant factory-approved configuration parameters. It never overwrites core drivetrain or chassis firmware. All changes remain fully reversible.
Vehicle Compatibility
This retrofit suits a wide range of modern Jaguar and Land Rover model platforms. The service works with existing drive mode selector and adaptive damping hardware. Vehicles with air suspension gain the full four-parameter configuration. Coil-sprung vehicles gain Engine, Gearbox, and Steering adjustment.
