Park Assist Retrofit for Land Rover & Jaguar
Park Assist turns a demanding manoeuvre into a calm, controlled procedure. This advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) feature scans for a suitable space, confirms the geometry and then controls your steering automatically while you manage speed. LR-Retrofit activates Park Assist on compatible Jaguar and Land Rover models through factory-compliant software coding within your vehicle’s Central Configuration File (CCF). We use licensed JLR diagnostic tools and official calibration data. You gain a feature that removes the stress from tight parallel and perpendicular parking, and it works with the factory sensors already fitted to your vehicle.
What Park Assist Delivers
Park Assist supports two manoeuvre types. Parallel Park Assist handles kerbside spaces between two parked vehicles. Perpendicular Park Assist handles bay spaces in car parks, where you reverse between two stationary vehicles. In both cases, the system measures the gap as you drive past at low speed. It then tells you when it has found a space large enough for your vehicle.
Once you confirm the manoeuvre, the system takes control of the steering. You keep command of the accelerator and brake on most platforms, so you retain full authority over vehicle speed at every moment. The touchscreen shows your progress with guidance prompts, and the parking aid tones continue to report distance to nearby objects. On later platforms, the system also manages drive and reverse selection, and applies the brakes automatically when required.
Park Exit works in the opposite direction. It guides your vehicle out of a tight bay where forward visibility is limited. The system steers while you control speed, and the Blind Spot Assist and Reverse Traffic Detection systems watch for approaching traffic.
The feature integrates with your existing Parking Aid and, where fitted, the Surround Camera System. You see the manoeuvre from multiple angles while the system handles the steering geometry.
How the System Works
Your vehicle’s Parking Aid Module (PAM) manages the entire process. Ultrasonic sensors mounted in the front and rear bumpers measure the space and report object distances. The PAM calculates the steering trajectory required to place your vehicle within the space.
During the manoeuvre, the PAM sends steering commands over the vehicle’s CAN network to the Electric Power Steering (EPS) system. The EPS applies the calculated steering angle with far greater precision than manual input allows. Where the platform supports automatic braking, the PAM also requests braking force from the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP). The Transmission Control Module handles drive and reverse selection on those platforms.
JLR fits the necessary sensors, wiring and EPS hardware to most compatible vehicles at the factory. The restriction sits within the CCF and the PAM calibration. We modify the relevant parameters and confirm the correct module configuration, which unlocks the function without adding or replacing hardware.
System Requirements
Park Assist relies on several factory systems working together. We verify each one during the pre-scan:
- Front and rear parking aid sensors — required for space measurement and object detection.
- Electric Power Steering — required for automatic steering control.
- Touchscreen display — required for the Park Assist interface and guidance prompts.
- Anti-Lock Braking System and ESP — required for automatic braking on supported platforms.
- Correct PAM software level — required for the trajectory calculation functions.
Where your vehicle lacks a required component, LR-Retrofit supplies genuine JLR parts and completes the installation before coding.

Our team confirms your vehicle’s exact configuration before we begin. We check your VIN, PAM part number, sensor fitment and current CCF settings to build a tailored plan.
Activation Process
LR-Retrofit performs Park Assist activation through professional software coding. This approach delivers several clear advantages:
- No hardware installation required — the function uses your vehicle’s existing sensors, EPS and display hardware.
- Factory-compliant coding — we modify your vehicle’s CCF using licensed JLR diagnostic tools and official OEM data.
- Complete in under one hour — the process is fast, efficient and fully reversible.
- Full verification — we scan for fault codes and test both parallel and perpendicular manoeuvres before handover.
We complete the activation at our workshop or through remote coding, depending on your location and vehicle setup.
