How Seats Memory Works on JLR Vehicles

JLR uses the Driver Seat Module (DSM) to control seat memory. The DSM stores position data from seat motors, exterior mirrors and the steering column. When you press a memory switch, the DSM commands each motor to move to its saved position. The module communicates with the Door Control Module over the CAN bus. This design allows the memory function to operate even before the ignition is on. Each smart key can also recall a different memory profile.
