USA-market Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles ship without the global close convenience feature. European and rest-of-world specification vehicles close all windows automatically when the driver holds the lock button on the smart key or touches the door handle sensor. USA safety regulations require a different configuration, so JLR disables this function at the factory for North American deliveries.

Our Windows Global Close activation restores this convenience permanently. After coding, you press and hold the lock button on your smart key for three seconds, and all open windows close automatically. You can also touch and hold the door handle lock sensor with the keyless entry system to achieve the same result.

How the JLR Global Close System Works

JLR vehicles manage the global close function through the Car Configuration File (CCF) — the master electronic configuration stored in the Body Control Module (BCM). The CCF broadcasts operational parameters to all vehicle modules across the CAN bus network. The BCM controls window regulator motors through dedicated door modules, which receive commands from the smart key receiver and keyless entry sensors.

For USA-market vehicles, the CCF encodes a market parameter that disables the global close logic. The BCM hardware fully supports the feature; JLR simply locks it behind a factory configuration flag.
